Games Like Hole.io: Best Free Browser Alternatives
Updated 2026-10-25
Hole.io made the eat-and-grow hole idea famous: steer a hole through a city, swallow everything smaller than you and race other players to become the biggest. PlayHoleGames is not affiliated with Hole.io or its publisher, and we do not host that game. If you enjoy the formula and want something different to play in your browser, here are the alternatives on our site and what each one does differently.
What to look for in a Hole.io alternative
The things that make the original fun are easy to list: a big, breakable city; a growth curve where you can feel yourself getting stronger; rivals that create tension; and short rounds. Good alternatives keep most of that and add a twist of their own: new modes, upgrades, a different setting or a different way to win.
1. Sink Hole: the closest all-round alternative
Sink Hole is the most complete city-eating game in our collection. You play a sinkhole in a 3D city with collapsing buildings, and in our test it had four modes: Classic (8 players, 2:30), Solo Rush (2:30), Battle Royale (10 players, a safe zone, no respawn) and Wipeout (swallow 100% of the city, no time limit). Rival holes carry green or red tags so you can tell at a glance which ones you can eat. Combos went up to x25, and there are power-ups, skins, missions and a daily reward calendar. If you want the classic feeling with more to unlock, start here.
Best for: players who want a full game with modes and progression.
2. Holey Battle Royale: for the competitive moments
The best part of many hole games is the end of a round when the big holes collide. Holey Battle Royale builds the whole game around that. An Alive counter shows how many holes are left (90 at the start of our round) and a Kills counter tracks how many you have eaten. We saw no countdown. There are several arenas (Battlefront, Food Court, and a Shopping Mall marked Coming Soon) and 27 skins to unlock.
Best for: tense, competitive rounds.
3. Hole Upper For 2 Players: play against a friend
Instead of strangers online, Hole Upper For 2 Players puts two holes on one screen. Player 1 uses WASD, player 2 uses the arrow keys, and a countdown runs at the top. When it reaches zero, a Winner screen appears with a Play again button.
Best for: playing with someone sitting next to you.
4. Hole Master: hole game with upgrades
Hole Master adds money and upgrades. You eat things, cash in at a Money Maker machine, and spend the money on Radius, Speed and Capacity upgrades. We saw no countdown, so it is a slower, steadier game than Hole.io.
Best for: players who like steady progression.
5. Holecraft.io: the blocky version
Holecraft.io swaps the city for a voxel-style block village. Classic is the familiar two-minute race against 12 holes. Battle has 20 holes and no respawns: last hole standing wins. Solo has no rivals and asks you to eat half the village in two minutes. Rival names like Creeper99 and EnderKing make the theme obvious, and there are Day and Halloween maps.
Best for: fans of block-building games.
6. Black Hole Swallow Master: short runs and a boss
If the rivals in most .io games stress you out, Black Hole Swallow Master has no rival holes. Instead, each level gives you 45 seconds to swallow a target number of items (50 on level 1), then a boss fight where you fire shells at a boss with 300 health.
Best for: quick, focused runs on a phone.
7. Super Slime Black Hole: the cosy option
Super Slime Black Hole uses a slime that behaves like a black hole. You steer with WASD, fill a level bar (20 pickups for level 1, 60 for level 2), and work along a stage bar that ends in a boss icon. We saw no rival holes and no countdown, which makes it a good pick for a quick break.
Best for: unwinding.
8. Attack Hole Game: swallow, then fight
Attack Hole Game is a portrait game with a 25-second timer, coins and gems, and a crowd of club-carrying figures on the arena. In our test session the level did not fully render after we started moving, so we could not see the end of a round; see its game page for details.
Best for: short portrait sessions on a phone.
9. Black Hole Fill 3D: the puzzle take
Black Hole Fill 3D gives you a clock (level 1 starts at 130) and judges you on how much of the level you cleared, shown as a percentage on the result screen. Coins buy SIZE and TIME upgrades between levels.
Best for: completionists.
10. Hole and Fill: Collect Master: collect, then feed
Hole and Fill: Collect Master has two halves. First you collect against a one-minute timer, then a Feed Food phase shows a golden character at a feast together with the count of what you collected. Upgrades (Time, Size, EXP Bonus) and trial boosters are offered through optional videos.
Best for: players who like seeing their haul pay off.
11. Hole Attack Master Collector: the Christmas one
Hole Attack Master Collector has a Christmas theme, a 10-second collecting run and a boss in a green Santa suit. Collected sweets (candy canes and lollipops) appear as attack buttons. A shop sells upgrades for coins.
Best for: very short sessions and the holiday season.

How we picked
We played every game on this list in a desktop browser on 25 October 2026 and wrote down the modes, timers and rivals we actually saw. Where we could not see something (for example the end of a boss fight), we say so rather than guess. Games can change when developers update them.
Tips that carry over from Hole.io
Everything you learned in the original still works: grow on small objects first, move along streets rather than across empty space, and only chase rivals you are clearly bigger than. For more, see our hole games tips.
