About Hexa Color Sort
Hexa Color Sort is a different kind of sorting game. There are no tubes. Instead you get a honeycomb board of grey hexagon cells and, below it, a tray of three small stacks of coloured hexagon tiles. The instruction on the start screen is short: "Drag & drop to build the peak tower!"
The game is drawn as a tall portrait column, so on a wide screen it sits in the middle with dark bars on both sides. At the top you see the level number and a progress bar that started at "0 / 100" on level 1, and on the left are restart and sound buttons.
Level 1 started with nineteen cells and three stacks already on the board: blue, white and red. You drag a stack from the tray onto any empty cell. When a stack lands next to a stack whose top colour matches, the matching tiles slide across and merge. We saw white tiles join into one tall white stack and blue tiles gather into a tall blue tower. When the tower grew tall enough, it cleared from the board and the bar jumped to 11 / 100. Once all three stacks in the tray are placed, a new set of three appears.
This makes Hexa Color Sort feel closer to a merge game than to a ball sort. You are not trying to empty tubes but to build tall single-colour towers, and every placement can set off a chain of tiles sliding from neighbour to neighbour. Planning where to drop each stack, next to its own colour and away from colours you do not want to mix, is the whole skill.
Be ready for ads with this one. In both of our tests a video ad started by itself within the first few seconds without any click (once before the board appeared, once just after it), and another ad interrupted the middle of level 1 after a few placements. Each ad showed a skip countdown and then closed on its own.

How to play Hexa Color Sort
- Wait for the loading screens (and the opening ad) to finish.
- Tap TAP TO PLAY.
- Drag a stack from the tray at the bottom onto an empty hexagon cell.
- Place stacks next to the same top colour so the tiles merge into taller stacks.
- Tall single-colour stacks clear and fill the progress bar; fill it to finish the level.
Controls
| Desktop | Click and drag a stack with the mouse, then release it over an empty cell. |
|---|---|
| Mobile & tablet | Touch and drag a stack onto the board. |
Tips & strategy
- Drop new stacks next to a stack whose top colour matches; that is how towers grow.
- Keep some empty cells free. When the board fills, you have nowhere to put the next tray.
- Avoid boxing a tall stack in with unrelated colours, or it has no neighbours to grow from.
- Use slow, deliberate drags; in our session two quick drags did not place their stacks.
Hexa Color Sort FAQ
How do I move a stack?
Drag it from the tray at the bottom and release it over an empty hexagon cell.
What clears tiles?
Tall stacks of one colour clear from the board. In our session a blue tower cleared and the bar went from 0 to 11 out of 100.
Why is the game narrow?
It is laid out as a portrait column, so wide screens show dark bars on each side.
Is there a timer?
We did not see a clock on level 1.
Is Hexa Color Sort free?
Yes, it is free to play in your browser.
