About Ball Sort 2D

Ball Sort 2D is about as pure as a ball sort puzzle gets. The listing calls it Ball Sort 2D, but the title screen inside the game simply says "Bubble Sort" over a drawing of two crossed tubes and a Play button, on a soft grey background. There is no story, no currency and no clock: just tubes, coloured balls and the rule that keeps them in order.

After Play you choose a Game Mode: Easy, Medium or Hard. Each mode has its own level grid, numbered in rows of nine. In our session only level 1 was open and every other square showed a small padlock, so levels unlock one at a time as you clear them.

Before the first level a Rules card explains everything with two pictures. A ball can be dropped onto a ball of the same colour (green tick) but not onto a different colour (red cross), and the goal is to finish with every tube holding one colour. Empty tubes accept any ball.

Level 1 had four tubes that each hold four balls and three colours: cream, teal and orange. Two tubes started full and two started half full. You tap a tube to lift its top ball, then tap the tube where it should go. Only one ball moves per tap, even when two balls of the same colour sit on top of each other, so you need a few extra taps compared with games that move whole runs. We cleared it in seven moves and got a "LEVEL COMPLETED" banner with "Tap to continue!" underneath. Level 2 used the same four tubes and three colours in a new order.

Three buttons sit around the board: a menu button at the top left, a restart arrow at the top right and a large undo arrow under the tubes. Undo makes the early levels very forgiving, because a wrong drop costs nothing.

When we tested it, a video ad did not play by itself while the title screen was idle. An ad did play after we pressed the in-game Play button, and another one appeared between level 1 and level 2.

We loaded this game on PlayHoleGames and played it in a desktop browser on 25 October 2026. The details on this page describe what we saw in that session; games can change when their developers update them.

Tips & strategy

  • Moves are one ball at a time, so plan the order: clear the colour that is closest to finished first.
  • Use the half-empty tubes as parking spaces, but try not to fill both of them with different colours at once.
  • If you get stuck, the undo arrow is cheaper than restarting; it steps back one move at a time.
  • Start on Easy to learn the rhythm; Medium and Hard have their own separate level lists.
